2024 ADIRONDACK FITNESS CHALLENGE ONLINE QUALIFIER OVERVIEW

Welcome to the 2024 Adirondack Fitness Challenge Online Qualifier (AFCOQ), the pivotal step for athletes aiming to compete at the esteemed in-person competition in the picturesque Lake Placid, NY. As we gear up for a thrilling display of fitness, strength, and skill, this comprehensive overview is designed to provide all participants with the necessary information for a successful and competitive experience.

Qualifier Format

DATES | January 18th - January 29th, 2024

The AFCOQ serves a dual purpose: firstly, to place athletes in the divisions best suited to their abilities—Rx, Scaled, or Masters 40+; secondly, to ensure the live event accommodates the participating athletes effectively. With 240 invites up for grabs across different divisions, athletes will have the chance to secure their spot through their performance in the qualifier.

Divisions & Standards

  • Rx Division: Targets athletes proficient in all movements seen at CrossFit Quarterfinals, typically at a CrossFit Competition Level of 7 or higher.

  • Scaled Division: Ideal for athletes who may excel in certain areas but have weaknesses in others, correlating with a CrossFit Competition Level of 6 or lower.

  • Masters 40+ Division: Accessible to all who have competed in the CrossFit Open as masters athletes, these workouts will be inclusive yet challenging for the experienced.

Schedule & Deadlines

  • Registration Opens | Monday, November 27th, 2023, at 8:00pm EST

  • Workouts Released | Thursday, January 18th, 2024, at 8:00am EST

  • Submission Deadline | Monday, January 29th, 2024, at 11:59pm EST

  • First Round Invites | Monday, February 12th, 2024

  • Invite Acceptance Deadline | Monday, February 26th, 2024, at 11:59pm EST

  • Backfill Process Begins | Tuesday, February 27th, 2024

Number of Scored Workouts

Participants will be challenged across 5 scored workouts to be completed and submitted within the given timeframe.

Online Qualifier Rules

General Rules

  • Complete each workout to be eligible for an invite.

  • Attempt workouts multiple times; only your best score submitted on time counts.

  • No score submissions post-qualifier.

  • Scores do not need to be validated by a coach/judge, but adherence to standards is advised.

Video Submission Guidelines

  • Use YouTube or Vimeo for submissions.

  • Record the workout with a quality camera setup, showing all necessary angles.

  • Include athlete identification, workout verification, and weight/equipment checks.

  • Maintain a visible clock for time-required workouts.

  • Continuous, unedited footage is mandatory.

  • Title and describe your video accurately.

  • Follow specific instructions for linking videos to your score submission.

Failure to meet the video submission standards can lead to penalties or disqualification of the workout score. Athletes are encouraged to ensure all movements meet the required standards and are captured clearly on video.
